The Garden archives serve as the “institutional memory” of the Garden. In addition to records of the Garden’s directors and Board of Trustees, the archive collection also includes architectural drawings, historical photographs, and the 19th century personal and business papers of Garden founder Henry Shaw. It is a resource for those studying the history of our institution, as well as botanical history at large. The archive also serves as a window into the history of St. Louis from Henry Shaw’s time to the present.
